InvestConservation is dedicated to protecting the biodiversity in tropical hotspots from deforestation and endangered species extinction by making conservation investable. They do this by making it worth more to conserve tropical forests than clearing them. By using tradable blockchain tokens, efficient technology and transparent data, they ensure more money per dollar invested goes into conservation and supporting local communities.
InvestConservation focuses on the most threatened and globally significant hotspots in Tropical forests that are home to the world’s richest and most important ecosystems on just 2,5% of the earth’s land surface.
Orbify’s solution for forest monitoring relies on aggregating multiple data sets (optical + RADAR +LIDAR) into one workflow that extracts the crucial forest health indices: a suit of vegetation indices, stand canopy height, near real time land use classification and various forest-non forest masks together with above ground biomass. Each one of these data sets is a valuable source of information on forest health and wellbeing, and each one has its flaws and uncertainties. Only when combined analysis is carried out the individual results are playing to its strengths and allow for pruning the erroneous or false positive conclusions.
By harnessing the power of Orbify platform we enable the forest engineers and interested services to aggregate multiple data sources and synthesise actionable insights. The app can be used to derive information on forest health and landscape dynamic that can help forest agencies to proceed with decision making in the different process as forest management, carbon offset project development, timber market, conservation initiatives and etc.
